About Aviation

If you have opened this website that means you are interested in aviation and let me give you some briefing on what you need to became a pilot.

Flight:
You need 40 hours of flight time from which are:

  • 20 hrs with flight instructor
  • 10 hrs solo flight time (5hrs solo & 5 hrs solo cross country)
  • 3 hrs night time with instructor
  • 3 hrs instrument flight experience and
  • 10 take offs and landings at night.

It takes about 55 to 60 hrs to get ready, before you can go for the "check ride" (exam).

Aeronautical knowledge:
Written exam which includes 60 question computerized exam. And you need a sign off (authorization to take the written exam) you have a choice to get it from your CFI, flight school or ground course.
I recomend to start with the aeronautic knowledge first because when you jump into the plain you will have knowledge about flight instruments and the plain it's self.

"Check Ride Exam"
The check ride exam being conducted with a designated FAA (federal aviation administration) examiner. It consist of approximately 2 hours of oral questions and 2 hours of flight.
